In 2005, Mark opened a shop selling CNC cutting tools in Chang’an Hardware City, Dongguan, selling cutting tools from a variety of imported brands. Due to his hard work on products and close relationship with customers, the business is getting more and more busy. Japanese and Korean brands saw the potential of Mark and decided to grant our company the exclusive agency right in South China at the end of 2007. During this period, we has established a good long-term cooperative relationship with many well-known domestic manufacturers, and has rich experience in cooperation with end customers, and can customize and provide the most valuable tool solutions for customers. Until now, Dongguan Chang’an Branch is still the base of our domestic sales.
In 2010, Mark learned that a Taiwanese company’s HSS M42 end mills factory in China needed to be sold. The chief technical engineer of the factory was from a famous Korean brand, and the quality of the high-speed steel tools it produced was of the same level as that of Japanese and Korean brands. After several rounds of negotiations, the entire factory, including technicians and machines, was packaged and bought by us and moved to Dongguan.
In 2015, Shenzhen Sunlit Tools Co., Ltd was established, and we began to expand overseas business, mainly providing OEM and ODM services for customers.
In 2016, considering the low price of HSS tools and long production cycle, in order to save production costs, we built a factory in Yanling, Hunan. The production of high-speed steel tools was transferred to Hunan, and the production base in Dongguan retained the production of carbide tools.
In 2017, the iphone 7 was made in China, and those top phone makers needed a lot of Tungsten carbide freze bits to process stainless steel. As one of the suppliers of cutting tools for the iphone manufacturers, we have imported dozens of CNC machine tools to meet the production capacity. In the same year, we started the professional custom-made tools business.
In 2019, among the orders for custom tools, it was found that there were many inquiries for thread milling cutters and small diameter boring tools, and there were few domestic manufacturers of high quality thread milling cutters and small diameter boring bits. Mark saw this business opportunity, and organized a technical team to develop the two types of cutting tools, and standardized mass production with a full range of inventory.
From 2017 to 2019, due to the slowdown in macroeconomic growth, especially the decline in the prosperity of the automotive and consumer electronics industries, China’s machine tool market has experienced three consecutive years of decline.
